Why invest offshore?
Investing offshore often has a mystique associated with it. Basically it means investing outside of the jurisdiction in which client’s are a resident. Typically investing offshore is done because it allows investments to grow in a tax efficient environment.
What are the minimum investment levels?
There is often the misconception that investing offshore is exclusively for the rich. It can be, but you can access investments offshore in 2 ways- one is regular investment/ savings for as little as €500 per month or €6000 per year [or currency equivalent], or for lump sums for sums over €40,000 [or currency equivalent].
How long can I invest for and would my funds stay tied for a certain period?
Currently there are approximately 40,000 different offshore investment solutions available worldwide. Each has a different approach to vesting period from immediately accessible funds to longer term type investments with 10 and 20 year investment periods. Investment duration and access requirements are part of the design process examined when we engage clients and can be specified.
How secure is my investment?
Our preferred approach is to make recommendation of offshore investment solutions based in Category 1 or Category 2 offshore jurisdictions. This means the stable, regulated and protected environments of places like Switzerland, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Luxembourg, Cayman Islands and Bermuda. What happens if I move and change my residency elsewhere?
Our core business involves working with expatriates and international investors who by nature move around as their working assignments change. Can I invest via my bank and receive the same quality of service?
Unlike banks our business focuses on mid to long term investments and not short term cash based instruments. The one size fits all approach by most major commercial banks is inadequate for our clients who require a personalised degree of service to assist them deliver their financial objectives.
